To stop the spread of drug menace in and around Chandigarh, Chandigarh Police in collaboration with officials of NCB, PGI & NGOs organized a Drug Awareness Week-2015 (12 May to 22 May) under the slogan �Just Say No To Drugs". Today, on 22/05/2015 the Closing Ceremony of Drug Awareness Week was organized in Govt. Senior Secondary School, Dhanas, Chandigarh. Vijay Kumar Dev, IAS, Advisor to the Administrator, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest on the occassion. R.P. Upadhyay, IPS, IGP/UT, Dr. Sukhchain Singh Gill, IPS, SSP/UT, Sh. Parvinder Singh, IPS, SP City, 

Sukhraj Katewa, DSP/Central, Dr. Abhishek and Dr. Manpreet, Psychiatrists from Drug Deaddiction Centre PGI, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Kaushal, from NGO Alcoholics Anonymous, other Senior Officers of Police Department, teacher staff & parents were present on this occasion. Approximately 2000 school students were sensitized about the drug abuse. Dr. Abhishek, Dr, Manpreet and Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Kaushal answered the queries raised by the students and gave tips and guidance to them. During the session many students came forward to share their views about addiction of their family members. 

On this, Dr. Abhishek, Dr. Manpreet Kaur, & Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Kaushal gave tips and guidance to them. The Pamphlets were distributed among the students to educate them about harmful effects of Drugs on human body.  R.P. Upadhyay, IPS, IGP/UT sensitized the children and other participants about the harmful effects of drug use. He asked them to provide information to Police about any illegal activity going on in their neighborhood.

The Chief Guest Sh. Vijay Kumar Dev, IAS, Advisor to the Administrator encouraged the students, teachers and their family members to strengthen their resolve in this fight against the Drug menace. He endeavored the administration and Police to work with full force to root out the evil from the city.
