THREE YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT WITH TOTAL FINE OF RS.TWO LAKHS TO THEN DEPUTY LEGAL ADVISOR OF CBI FOR ACCEPTING BRIBE OF RS. FOUR LAKHS


            The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Saket Courts, New Delhi has convicted Shri D.K.Srivastava, then Deputy Legal Advisor(DLA), CBI, ACB, Delhi in a bribery case and sentenced him to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.One Lakh U/s 7 of P.C.Act and three years Rigorous Imprisonment U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of the P.C.Act with fine of Rs. One Lakh.

            CBI had registered a case on 11.05.2006 on a complaint against Shri D.K.Srivastava, the then DLA, CBI, ACB, Delhi alleging that he demanded a bribe of Rs. Four Lakhs from the complainant to show favour in the enquiry registered at ACB, CBI, Delhi.

            A trap was laid by CBI and the accused was caught red-handed while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. Four Lakhs from the complainant.

            On conclusion of investigation, the charge sheet was filed in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases on 11.07.2006 U/s 7 r/w 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of the PC Act, 1988. The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him U/s 7 r/w 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of the PC Act, 1988 on 11.11.2013.
