The Special Judge for CBI cases, Hyderabad has convicted Sh. V. Gopal Reddy, then Senior Divisional Engineer (West), South Central Railway, Secunderabad Division, Secunderabad and sentenced him to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. 20,000/- in a bribery case.

CBI had registered a case and filed a chargesheet against Sri V. Gopal Reddy, Sr. Divisional Engineer (West), South Central Railway, Secunderabad Division, Secunderabad U/s 7 and 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act 1988 for  demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.10,000/- from the Complainant for approving variation statement towards the works executed by the company of the complainant.

            The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him.
